We started Asterya because we saw something that didn’t sit right with us something that had been accepted for too long in aviation without question. Pilots spend countless hours exposed to intense sunlight at high altitudes. Over time, that exposure carries real health risks from eye strain and fatigue to more serious conditions like skin cancer and cataracts. And yet, meaningful protection just… wasn’t there. The solutions were either improvised, uncomfortable, or simply not made for the reality of flying. We couldn’t ignore it. As a pilot and an engineer, we came to this problem from different paths, but we shared the same feeling: this matters. It’s about the people in the cockpit — their health, their focus, their long-term well-being. And if we had the means to do something about it, then we had the responsibility to try.

Asterya isn’t just a company to us. It’s our answer to a quiet problem in an industry we care deeply about. It’s our way of contributing something meaningful — thoughtfully designed, thoroughly tested, and always centered on the people it’s meant to protect. This is what drives us. Not just innovation for its own sake, but innovation that serves.
